Home Design Styles

Most people know the look they want before they know what it’s called. Warm woods and soft whites, or clean lines and empty space, or layered textiles and plants everywhere. Here you’ll find five styles broken down room by room, along with the colours, materials, and pieces that make each one work. If you’re somewhere between two of them, that’s normal, and most homes that feel good are.

The fastest way to work out your own style is to look at what’s already in your house that you actually like, rather than starting from a name. Pull out three or four things you’d keep no matter what, and whatever they have in common is usually closer to your style than anything you’d pick off a list.
